Project Overview: A Landmark in the Making
In early 2025, our team at custom Engineered Arts partnered with Stemz Inc. and the visionary minds behind Mademoiselle Raw Bar + Grill to design and fabricate an iconic sculptural facade in the heart of Toronto’s nightlife scene. Located on King Street, this one-of-a-kind installation blends artistic expression with structural performance, turning the venue into an urban landmark that sparks curiosity and elevates brand identity.
The Design challenge: Art Meets Architecture
The creative brief was ambitious: craft a facade that would make Mademoiselle instantly recognizable while integrating with the historic character of King Street. Our objective was to create a bold architectural statement without overwhelming the streetscape. A sculptural design that balances elegance, scale, and urban context.
We developed a concept that centers on an oversized sculptural hat, paired with custom-fabricated architectural panels. This centerpiece adds personality and emotional impact while anchoring the venue as a visual destination.
Built for Beauty and Endurance
Aesthetic impact was only half the equation. Every element of the facade was designed to endure Toronto’s year-round climate — from intense summer heat to winter snowfall. Engineered with weather-resistant materials and mounted for long-term structural integrity, the installation maintains its form and finish despite heavy foot traffic and environmental exposure.
Integrated LED lighting subtly highlights the facade after dark, casting a soft radiance that enhances the sculptural effect and invites passersby into the space.
This installation does more than enhance a building — it shapes experience. The sculptural hat has quickly become:
- A local photo destination and social media magnet
- A recognizable emblem in Toronto’s nightlife visuals
- A conversation starter that invites interaction and memory-making

Fabrication & Installation Process
Every stage — from concept sketching to installation — was handled in-house at our Toronto-based studio. The process included:
